Columbo to Singapore

A day to play catch up in Colombo—we slept in, had a relaxing breakfast and made a short visit to the National Museum. One great idea- find the large American luxury hotels in the city- they will always have A/C, good food and cold beers. The Colombo Hilton pub not only had all of that - but also had pitchers of margaritas and individual booths with TV’s (showing Cinemas, CNN, BBC). It was a great place to while away the afternoon and evening until our late night flight.
9:00 and we were off to the airport. There had been serious fighting with the Tamil Tigers in the north- so security was heightened…multiple security checks at the airport.
At 11:55 p.m., we headed to Singapore – a 3-½ hour flight, a two-hour time change and we were back in the Singapore airport at 6:00 am the next day—feeling like paste!
