Our last day in Damascus

Shopping on the agenda for our last day in Damascus. John’s keen shopping antenna found an al-Hassad plate hanging in a store window. We tracked down the owner of the locked shop and he opened the store for us. The plate, from Turkey, was a special order by the owner and had a huge break badly repaired on the top. He wouldn’t budge from $30- even with the break- but we just had to have it.

We took at taxi to the embassy section of town for dinner (restaurant circle) and then raced to the Old City to catch the last minute of the Arab storyteller at the local café.

Early to bed….a very early start in the morning.
