Another day in Istanbul

More sightseeing- St Savior of Chora Church and spectacular mosaics. It is one of the most spectacular Byzantine churches- famous for it’s mosaics and frescoes.

We then attempted to find a giant evil eye and, after a few wild-goose chases, gave up for the time being. We did find some wonderful old photographs in the Bazaar.

More administrivia this afternoon and a stop at Rumeli Café where we met the manager who used to be a tour guide in Turkey (what a wealth of knowledge!)

At 6:00, we picked up “the van”- a huge white Ford “tourist van” that could easily fit 8 people with luggage.

Another night at ”Martin 2” and mixing it up with the locals. We’ve decided that Martin has some inexplicable chemistry with the Turks…they just love him. We coined him “Marta-Turk”.
