We revisited the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations this morning. Our guide, a Turkish Jimmy Durante, was a hoot. He was 73 years old, had been guiding for 35 years and was the most animated guide we’ve ever had. He made the history come alive with his enthusiasm and humor. The museum is truly one of the most spectacular in the world. The exhibits end with the birth of Christ! We had our biggest laugh of the trip as we watched a large group of Turkish kids passing by a group of French tourists screaming out “Hello” and “What is your name?”. One of the women had the most pained look on her face- not sure how to deal with this horrifying situation—then finally said, “Bonjour” with her nose in the air. We laughed hysterically.
Email in the afternoon and another evening at the Hisar. (Had “cigarette pie”)
