A full day tour in Cappadocia. We started our tour at the Goreme Valley. It is a valley filled with rock cut monastery churches from the 11th and 12th Century. The frescoes in the church are amazing and the scenery surrounding the churches is fairy-like.

The next stop was Kaymakli, one of the 100’s of underground cities in the area. The original cities date back to the Hittite times, 4000 years ago and were occupied and expanded by the early Christians. The excavated potion of Kaymakli is 4 stories underground and the cities had underground passages connecting them to each other.
Next stop, Uchisar and the Kale, a tall rock outcrop riddled with tunnels and windows. Martin and Christine decided to venture to the top.
From there, we went to Zelve and the valley of the fairy chimneys.
After a full day of walking, M&C headed to the Turkish bath for a relaxing bath/massage while we chose to get a bottle of wine and relax.
